| Please
bear in mind that in North Cyprus life is very different from that in mainland
Europe. Obviously, this is part of the charm of your holiday, but also means
that you are not likely to find the same sophisticated standards of public
utilities you are used to. It is possible that you may experience power
cuts or water shortages during your holiday and, since local life must continue and this part of Cyprus is continually under development, it is possible that there may be building work in progress in your chosen resort. Obviously, such matters are out of our control and we cannot take responsibility for them. Where we do know in advance and when this is likely to have a serious effect on the enjoyment of your holiday, we will do our best to inform you in advance. |

| You will be picked up from the airport on arrival by a company representative and transferred to your hotel. Although we do realise that you will probably be tired from your flight, please be patient as your representative must wait until all passengers have left the airport and other passengers will be dropped off on the way to and from your hotel. You will be informed of your return transfer time by your local representative, either in person or in writing, or a note will be posted on your hotel notice board. Transfer time from Ercan Airport to Kyrenia is approximately 45 minutes and to Famagusta 50 minutes. | |
| There are currently no mandatory vaccinations required for North Cyprus, although it is always advisable to contact your GP before travelling. Deep Vein Thrombosis: The risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurring while travelling by air is extremely low, however there are a number of precautions you can take to reduce your risk. Any travel involving prolonged immobility can result in DVT. This occurs when a blood clot forms, usually in the lower leg. This is a serious medical condition and needs treatment with blood thinning drugs or anticoagulants to prevent clots breaking off and causing signifi cant illness. People at risk include those with a history of thrombosis, those taking oral contraceptive pill or who are pregnant, those recently hospitalised, smokers, the obese, some patients with congestive heart failure and people with malignant disease. Dehydration may exacerbate the problem. Periodic exercising of the feet and legs or walking around where feasible is advised to reduce the risk. Elastic stockings may be helpful. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic liquids to prevent dehydration. Those who are believed to be particularly prone are advised to obtain expert medical advice for the journey. | |
